| I won a weekly first prize ($100) in the local KINSA
(Kodak International Newspaper Snapshot Award) contest with this picture.
That would have been about 1974 because I was teaching writing and
photography in Amarillo Community College. Kodak used to have a contest
each year run by local newspapers for non-professional photographers (that
is they don't actually make a living as a photographer). Each week they
had a different subject and that particular one was your "Pride and Joy"
so I sent in a photo of my own Pride and Joy. Evidently the local judges
had a better sense of humor than those in Rochester because it didn't even
get a Horrible Mention in the final judging. |
